DIG IN! FEST UPDATE
RAFFLE WINNER: Tammy Graham
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth yesterday at the Dig In! Fest in Fayetteville. What a great event, celebrating local, sustainable agriculture and delicious food! We had 105 entries (!!) into our raffle for a FREE 1/2 lamb, and the winner was TAMMY GRAHAM of Tontitown. Congratulations Tammy! Cat enjoyed co-facilitating the class "Fermenting 101: Kombucha, Kraut & Kefir, Oh My!" with fellow fermenting enthusiast Lucy Kagan. Over 20 folks came to learn about the amazing health benefits of homemade fermented foods…and to get some instruction & great beginner recipes for sauerkraut, garlic dill pickles, kombucha tea, kefir and kimchee. If you are interested in this topic, or other "Hands-On Homesteading Education", contact us for more information. We currently offer small group & individual classes in:

  • Fermenting 101
  • Your Family Sheep/Goat (Beginner/Introductory)
  • Lambing Weekend (Hands on humane animal handling/lambing skills from clip/dip/strip to vaccinating & hoof trimming & other routine husbandry activities).
  • Llama Handling: Working in the Round Pen (Basic T-Touch Techniques), basic husbandry (grooming, hoof trimming, shearing).
  • Lambapalooza 2013: Join us for our annual open-house & farm festival, and get in touch w/your local food & farmers.
